Neil is an engineer with a passion for sustainability and green buildings. Graduating from Cal Poly with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, he currently works for Rumsey Engineers, a leading green HVAC design firm in the bay area. Last year, he had the privilege of organizing a daylong leadership-training seminar called Be the Change. Students came together to teach and learn from one another with the goal of empowering the next generation of on-campus leaders in sustainability. From this and other experiences, Neil aspires to be a conduit of knowledge, learning from and teaching others. |

Nancy is a graduating city and regional planning student with a focus in energy and climate change policy. Nancy planned and participated in an energy tour that brought 20 energy professionals across Northern Europe to discuss clean energy solutions. Nancy initiated and managed the Cal Poly Green Campus Program by obtaining an annual $20,000 grant for her campus to promote energy efficiency programs that saved Cal Poly over $115,000 in energy operational costs the first year. She successfully negotiated a referendum for a multimillion-dollar recreation center expansion project to be LEED certified, a green building standard. Nancy has worked for municipal governments, authored a long-range plan for reducing citywide greenhouse gas emissions, and developed a monitoring program to measure progress towards countywide sustainability goals. |
