The California Energy Tour (CET) brought together students and young energy professionals on a tour through the California Energy sector to visit places pioneering a clean and renewable energy economy from June 15-20, 2009. Participants visited state and local entities, research institutions, private consulting firms, community-based organizations and non-profits to understand how to transform California’s production and consumption of energy.
On the tour, participants traveled from Sacramento to the Bay Area, spending a week visiting various organizations and companies currently related to the California Energy Sector. Participants met with the people who are creating the policies and structures that are establishing our state's energy future today. Sites ranged from the California Energy Commission, Sonoma Mountain Village, Marin Clean Energy, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Open Source IdeologyIn the creation this tour, our hope was to both learn in a creative way and also to produce a model and organizing-process that could be shared with the public. In that light, below are files created in the planning and creation of this tour. Not all documents are complete unto themselves and some where used as exercises among the organizing team to create a unified message. With all of these documents and any other questions you may have, feel free to email us. We would be happy to share more further with logistics planning as well on a case-by-case basis.
